There's just something oh-so-refreshing about a glass of passion fruit juice, especially on a hot summer day! It's like having liquid sunshine in a glass. What's even better is that passion fruit juice isn't just delicious; it's packed with nutrients that benefit your overall well-being. It's a great source of Vitamin C, essential for boosting your immune system and promoting healthy skin, and it's also rich in antioxidants, which help protect your cells from damage. It also contains fiber, which aids in digestion. So, next time you're craving a drink that's both refreshing and good for you, reach for that passion fruit!
Passion fruit juice is one of my favourites, and it's why I actually grew a passion fruit vine here at home to have easy access to the fruit. Once properly established (it does attract lots of caterpillars so they can quickly eat down the plant if you're not careful!), it's very easy to take care of and I can pick new fruit every few days.
Here's my recipe for homemade passion fruit juice using fresh fruit from the vine, and it's super easy to make - you only need three ingredients! This makes passion fruit juice but of course, you can get creative and use this to make cocktails or mocktails.

Fresh Passion Fruit Juice
(Makes 1 Litre)
Ingredients:
2 cups passion fruit pulp
4 cups water
½ cup sugar (can be adjusted to taste)
Method:
Cut each passion fruit in half and scoop out the seeds and pulp. Place in a blender and add 2 cups of water. Pulse - do NOT puree.
Strain into a pitcher.
Dissolve sugar in the other 2 cups of water then add to pitcher. Combine everything.
Stir, then serve chilled or with ice.
For a more intense flavour, scoop out the passion fruit pulp, put it into a bowl and then pour hot water over until it's completely covered, then leave overnight. Strain through a fine sieve or cheesecloth, and then add sugar to taste.
Enjoy your glass of fresh passion fruit juice!
